- 1st time ski/board

1ST TIME SKI OR SNOWBOARD PACKAGE for ages 7+, new to skiing or snowboarding. (For children ages 4-6, click here.)
1st Time Packages include an 8-hour or Night Sunnyside Learning Area lift ticket providing access to a conveyor lift and double and triple chairlifts servicing easier terrain, equipment rental and a 1-1/2 hour "1st Time" ski or snowboard group lesson. (1st Time Package is available from 6pm-10pm for $60)

Lessons go out promptly at times listed. Please plan your arrival at least 1 hour prior to the lesson time.

If you are new to skiing and snowboarding and visiting Ski Sundown for the first time, the following steps will guide you through the process of obtaining your ticket, getting fitted for your equipment and meeting your lesson.

WELCOME CENTER DESK - Inside the Base Lodge

— Purchase your 1st Time Ski or Snowboard Package here. You receive a lift/lesson/rental ticket. Please ask for assistance if you are unsure of how to attach the ticket to your clothing. Then proceed to the Rental Shop for your ski or snowboard equipment.

RENTAL SHOP - Located across from the ticket windows

— Complete your rental form at the counters located just inside the door. If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must also sign. A photo I.D. is required. Click here to download the Equipment Rental & Liability Release Agreement.

BOOT PICK-UP

— Based on the information you entered on your rental form, a technician will select the proper size boot for you.

FITTING AREA

— Try on your boots. They should be snug but not tight. If you are unsure about the fit, ask any employee for assistance. Space is available in this area for you to leave your shoes.

SKIS & POLES/SNOWBOARD

— Based on the information you entered on your rental form, a technician will set your bindings and give you your skis or snowboard. On your way outside, you will select the proper size poles from the color coded racks.

YOUR LESSON

— Outside the Rental Shop exit you will be greeted by a Snowsports school staff member who will assign you to a class. Relax and enjoy your lesson!

RENTAL RETURN

— Once you are finished using your rental equipment, please enter the Rental Shop through the door marked Rental Return and hand your equipment to an employee behind the counter.

CONGRATULATIONS!

You are on your way to a lifetime of skiing or snowboarding fun! Your ticket is valid on the conveyor lift and the double and triple chairlifts and trails at the Sunnyside Learning Area. It is the area in front of you as you exit the Rental Shop with your equipment. Your ticket is valid for 8 hours from the time it is first scanned at the learning area. On your next visit, we recommend that you take an ALL MOUNTAIN PACKAGE. This package includes a ticket to all lifts and trails, equipment rental and a group lesson at your skill level.
